Quick rules to learn baseball as players

Quick Rules to learn Baseball As Players

For an outsider looking in, baseball can look very complicated especially so after seeing disputes and shouting matches within a professional game. to learn baseball intuitively, one must view it first as part of the audience.

Audience view

For the layman, the object of the game is for the teams to actually make more runs than their opponents. (A run is making it safely through all the bases.)

Anybody who has the ball can tag you out if you are not in your rightful base plate. The pitcher will use all his powers to strike you out of the game.

Players view

Young baseball players usually start out by watching the sport first. Later, they will try out with a team and play the game.

However, the coaches are the ones who will make sure these youngsters will understand rules thoroughly. The following are some of the important ones.

Strike zone

The batter should know how to assess and cover the entire strike zone. This is a delicate subject because this varies from umpire to umpire.

Basically, however, the strike zone is the space over the home plate between the batters shoulders and the top of his knees (when he is at his natural positional stance).

Fair ball

A ball that had been batted is considered fair ball if it lands in the field of play. It is still a fair ball if it touches or passes first or third base within fair territory.

The big point is to simply run hard enough to first base when you hit the baseball.

Three strikes

A batter is out if the catcher catches a third strike during an at bat position. However, if the catcher drops the third strike, or the ball gets past by, and there is no base runner at first base, then the batter can run to the first base and try to arrive there safely before the catcher throws the ball there.

Tie goes to the runner

Put simply, the umpire is the ultimate judge whether the base runner is safe or out. If the runner arrives at a base at the same instance the fielder catches the ball, the runner is considered safe.

Base running

Running the bases is probably the most fun in baseball. However, there are many rules regarding base running.

A runner has to touch all the bases going around the infield. He has to touch first, second, third and then the home plate before he can score a run. (He has to go back to that plate if he misses touching them.)

He cannot pass a fellow runner in front of him.

Tagging out

A fielder must touch a runner to tag him out, either with the ball or his glove when the ball is in. He cannot tag the runner with his glove but has the ball in his other hand.

Sportsmanship

Umpires make the decisions and can disqualify anybody for good reason. Players do not argue balls or strikes. Respect for umpires, coaches and players must be up at all times. This tops everything in your drills and skills.

All in all, to learn baseball is actually being able to follow rules and play them no arguments and questions, but just to have fun.

There are a variety of options for setting up your first blog, but I am only going to mention two of them here. These are the two fastest and easiest ways to get started blogging, and they are also the two best ways. One of them is even better than the other

The first option is . I consider it second best. It is free to set up a blog there, and fairly easy to use. You can set up an account, choose a template, and begin blogging.

The second option, and the one I use myself and recommend to others, is WordPress. There are other options out there, but WordPress is free and widely supported.

If you already have a web hosting account, check with them first. Most of them offer WordPress as a free add-on within their hosting accounts, and it is a simple one-click install.

If you dont have a hosting account, or if you wont be using the same hosting account for your new blog, I would recommend that you open an account with HostGator. For only $9.95 you can get an account that lets you set up an unlimited number of sites, blogs or domain names. So if you choose to set up additional blogs or websites in the future, it wont cost you any extra.

Most people who start out on , and decide that they want to move up in the blogging world, end up switching over to WordPress. This is the reason that I recommend you just go ahead and start out on WordPress. That way you wont have to worry about starting over, or convincing readers to subscribe to your new blog when you make the switch.

But if you do start out on , I would recommend that you get your own domain name. Your domain name will be the . If you dont register a domain name, your address will be . If you choose to make changes later, you will lose any PageRank and incoming links that you have worked hard to build. So it makes sense to start out with your own domain name.

You can register a domain name for only $8.95 at .

Here is your quick checklist for starting a blog:

- Pick a topic for your blog
- Register a domain name for your blog
- Check with your current host, or set up a hosting account
- Use the one-click install within your control panel
- Start blogging!

Once you set up your blog and begin blogging, you will want to explore all of the options that are available. There are many themes or templates that you can use for free, customizations that you may want to do, and of course techniques to promote your blog.

But first you have to get started... so go ahead and follow these easy steps and set up your new blog today!

Best,
Lynn Terry

Recycling my childrens generation

Recycling and Today's Teens

Recycling has been around longer than any of today's young teens have been alive and maybe that's why recycling has never been a question for them as to whether or not they should recycle but has always been more of a "How else can we help when recycling," kind of thought process. My own generation, having grown up in the 70's has a different mind-set. In fact, I have to remind myself the reasons we recycle, when to recycle and how to keep my family and household up-to-date and aware of the reasons to recycle.

This new, younger generation, is an impressive one, to me. They seem to be aware of humanity on a global level. Lessons they've been taught in school on a consistent basis have always had a common theme; take care of the Earth or we may lose it. They are keenly aware of how wasteful prior generations have been and seem to be of one mind when it comes to solving those problems.

When we recycle we are taking a step away from ourselves and begin to think about the Earth as a whole. It has become obvious to us that by recycling our waste we are going to be leaving less waste for future generations to have to deal with and we are taking an active step in keeping the planet 'around' for a longer period of time.

Today's teens have inspired me by their dedication to helping others who have less than they do and how wasting any commodity or resource we may have, the idea of wasting it is simply not an option. They are forever coming up with new ways to reduce production of an item or they are constantly thinking up ways in which the item can be reused; they do this without needing to "think" about it, it's the only way of life they've known.

There is an organization that has taken something many of us take for granted and figured out a way to pass on to those who are unable - to feel a little normal. Locks of Love takes hair donated by people and has that hair made into wigs for people who have had their hair fall out due to chemotherapy treatments or as the result of another disease or condition. How brilliant to think of those of us who grow our hair without thought or effort, to be able to have the privellige of helping another! It's beautiful to me, how this new generation is always thinking about how they can help others.

There are two teens that I know of who took this idea of growing their hair in order to donate it, and dedicated this past summer to doing just that; and the week before school opened in September, sat together and had their hair cuts. What is remarkable about these two teens is that only one is a girl, the other, a young man knew there was a need for other boys his age to have wigs made for them and took on the challenge valiantly. Boys don't have to have their hair quite as long in order to donate it, but it does have to be grown-out. My awe at teens like these two from town, who at such a volatile age, where self-image is so very fragile, would step out of their comfort zones of following the crowd, in order to do grow their hair long enough for it to be recycled and reused by others, is overwhelming. By stepping out of those comfort zones they leave themselves in a vulnerable situation, where they can become the targets for some of the ridicule that goes on in Middle school; and yet they still do it.

Maybe they are less likely to go against the idea of recycling because of the timing of their birthdates; it's just refreshing to know that the idea of recycling is strong in this up coming generation and if we continue to foster that innate responsibility in them, we may just keep this planet around a little longer.

Rabbits; an exotic animal that could benefit from health insurance that insures pet medical needs

Rabbits; an Exotic Animal that Could Benefit from Health Insurance that Insures Pet Medical Needs

Many pet owners enjoy the company and companionship of having a pet rabbit in the house. People are attracted to the idea of house rabbits because rabbits are not only playful and fun to watch they are also very social. Rabbits tend to appeal to people who like the size and feel of cats but are put off by the aloof manners cats sometimes display, most rabbits, if handled properly, are friendly all the time. Rabbit owners need to be aware that because rabbits are so social they need to spend allot of time each and every day playing with their pet rabbit. Rabbits that do not get enough attention can become depressed. Like cats pet rabbits are low maintenance and are easily litter box trained. Rabbits chew on everything, the best way to spare your furniture is to give your pet rabbit lots and lots of chewy toys. Rabbits and young children are not a very good combination, kids habit of grabbing and running around makes rabbits nervous and they can start biting, and rabbit bites hurt. If you decide to keep you

Rabbits need to be taken to the veterinarian on a regular schedule for routine vaccinations and check ups. Rabbit owners who keep their rabbits in the house recommend spaying and neutering your rabbit. Pet rabbits are not known for their willingness to take medications. If you have to give your pet rabbit liquid mediation you will need to use a syringe (just the syringe not the needle) or an eye dropper. I prefer syringes because it is easier to measure the proper dosage of medication. Holding the rabbits head and neck with one hand slide the syringe into the rabbits mouth behind the teeth, Check to make sure that the tip of the syringe isn't stuck out the other side of the mouth, point the tip of the syringe towards the rabbits throat. Depress the syringes plunger.

If your vet prescribes a medication for your rabbit that is in a pill or tablet form you are going to have to crush up the pill. Once you have crushed the pill into a powder mix it with a little bit of flavored Sustacal or Ensure until you have a watery paste. Use a syringe to administer the paste like a liquid medication.

It only takes being bitten by one mosquito for a rabbit to become infected with a severe viral disease call Myxomatosis. Most rabbits die just a few short hours after contracting the disease. The only way to treat Myxomatosis is to vaccinate your pet rabbit before it ever comes into contact with Myxomatosis. Rabbits should be vaccinated when they are six weeks old. Do not give a pregnant rabbit the vaccination; wait until her babies are born. Rabbits are still at risk for Myxomatosis for fourteen days after being vaccinated. Your pet rabbit will need booster shots.

Health problems commonly associated with rabbits are uncontrolled bleeding when injured, blood in the urine, broken bones, breathing problems, falling body temperature, and severe diarrhea. If you would like to purchase an insurance plan to help cover the cost of veterinary expenses for your pet rabbit you will probably have to look for an exotic animal policy offer by a pet health insurance company.
